You’re wrong more often than you’re right – an article for Marketer+
You’re wrong more often than you’re right.
(when it comes to website optimization)
I know, hard to swallow. But I have data for it:
➡️ Only around 10% of the changes tested on Airbnb, Booking and Netflix produce a statistically significant improvement in the metric they were meant to improve.
➡️ On average, only around 20% of ideas meant to raise a website’s business results deliver the expected outcome.
Which naturally raises the question – since we’re wrong so often, how do you make sure what you change on your site actually works?
I talk about that in the latest issue of Marketer+.
In my piece you’ll learn:
🟢 how to make better decisions about changes on a website,
🟢 how to cut down on shipping weak ideas,
🟢 what affects conversion rate,
🟢 whether correlation always means causation.
